Welcome Message

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the official website of Action Research Bangladesh (ARB).

ARB is a hub for multidisciplinary public health research, working at the intersection of medicine, engineering, business, social sciences, and environmental sustainability.

Our mission is to generate evidence that informs policy and practice, addressing the complex health and development challenges facing Bangladesh today. Our research spans a broad range of areas, including maternal and child health, elderly care, mental well-being, non-communicable diseases, digital health, and emergency preparedness. We are especially committed to exploring the integration of artificial intelligence and smart technologies into health systems to improve service delivery, accessibility, and equity. Each of our projects is designed to contribute to both local solutions and global knowledge.

Beyond research, ARB plays a vital mentoring and training role for early-career professionals and research assistants from diverse academic backgrounds. We actively support individuals in medical sciences, business and economics, public health, social sciences, and engineering, equipping them with practical skills and real-world research experience. Thank you for visiting our platform—I warmly invite you to engage with our work and join us in building a healthier, more equitable Bangladesh.

Warm regards,
Moustaq Karim Khan Rony
Director, Action Research Bangladesh (ARB).

Motto

Research. Empower. Transform.

Our Mission

To drive sustainable improvements in public health outcomes across Bangladesh through participatory action research, policy advocacy, technological innovation, and community empowerment. ARB is committed to generating high-quality, context-specific evidence that bridges the gap between research and real-world implementation.

Our Vision

A Bangladesh where public health development is led by local evidence, inclusive participation and innovative practices — ensuring health equity, resilience and well-being for all communities.

History & Background

Action Research Bangladesh (ARB) was founded in response to the growing demand for
context-specific, evidence-based solutions to Bangladesh’s pressing public health
challenges. Initially launched as a grassroots initiative in 2020 by a group of passionate
researchers, clinicians, and public health professionals, ARB was officially established in
2025 with a bold vision: to position action research as a driving force for sustainable
health improvement.

Unlike conventional research models that often end in publication, ARB was built on the
belief that research should translate directly into practice, policy, and community
empowerment. Early efforts focused on both urban and rural health programs, and
quickly expanded into diverse domains including artificial intelligence in healthcare,
gender equity, non-communicable diseases, mental health, emergency preparedness,
health system resilience, health financing, and social sciences.

Over time, ARB evolved into a multidisciplinary organization, bringing together medical
professionals, policy experts, engineers, and data analysts under a shared commitment to
health equity and innovation. Today, ARB works in close collaboration with academic
institutions, government agencies, and international partners to design and implement
impactful research and capacity-building initiatives.

Rooted in ethical research, inclusive participation, and sustainable outcomes, ARB
continues to mentor the next generation of public health leaders and remains steadfast in
its mission to transform health systems—one evidence-based solution at a time.
